Kentucky mom arrested for tattooing toddler because “he wanted one”

A Kentucky mother has been arrested after allegedly giving her 22-month-old son a tattoo because the child “wanted” one, according to police records cited by local outlets.

Brook McDaniel, 27, was taken into custody on Monday, May 4, after Kentucky State Police responded to a child abuse complaint at a home in Monticello, Kentucky. Police say the child had a black dot tattoo on his right forearm with redness around the area.

According to an arrest citation, McDaniel told police she was tattooing her own leg when the toddler walked up and put his arm in the path of her tattoo gun. Several witnesses reportedly told officers that McDaniel had described the mark as a “party dot” tattoo and said the child had requested it.
