Instant Karma: Leftist Protester Spits On ICE Agent, Gets Immediately Arrested

A newly circulating video from Minneapolis is drawing national attention after capturing a disturbing moment during an anti-ICE protest, highlighting the increasingly hostile climate facing federal immigration officers. The footage shows a protester spitting on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent—an act that led to his immediate arrest and renewed debate over rising tensions surrounding immigration enforcement.

In the video, the man—wearing a red-and-blue winter cap, a gray T-shirt over an orange long-sleeve shirt—walks past a line of ICE officers before suddenly turning hostile. He can be heard yelling, “You disgust me!” Moments later, a woman nearby confirms what many suspected: the man had spat directly on one of the agents.

Federal officers responded swiftly, taking the man into custody within seconds. While some protesters appeared to defend his actions, the incident shocked many viewers online. In most states, spitting on another person—particularly a law enforcement officer performing official duties—is classified as assault.

The confrontation comes amid heightened animosity toward ICE following renewed immigration enforcement efforts under President Donald Trump’s administration, which has prioritized the removal of criminal illegal aliens. Tensions escalated further after a recent fatal shooting in Minneapolis involving a woman who, according to the Department of Homeland Security, attempted to strike an ICE agent with her vehicle.

Federal officials stated the officer was forced to make a split-second decision to protect himself and others. “The individual used her vehicle as a weapon,” Homeland Security officials said. “Fearing for his life and the safety of fellow officers and the public, the ICE agent fired defensive shots in accordance with his training.”

Despite those findings, several Democratic leaders issued sharp condemnations of ICE rather than the violent behavior surrounding the protests.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey delivered a profanity-laced statement telling ICE agents they were not welcome in the city and demanding they leave Minneapolis. Critics argue the mayor placed blame on federal officers instead of those engaging in unlawful conduct.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz further fueled controversy by describing protests against immigration enforcement as a “patriotic duty,” a remark that conservatives say risks legitimizing aggressive actions against law enforcement.

Police organizations have voiced growing concern over the rhetoric. The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association released a statement warning that inflammatory language from elected officials can have “serious and dangerous consequences” for officers on duty—a warning that appeared to materialize almost immediately.

In the aftermath of the shooting, protesters gathered outside the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building, where clashes with law enforcement prompted officers to deploy pepper spray, pepper balls, and other crowd-control measures during the early morning hours of January 9, 2026.

For critics of the protests, the pattern is clear: sustained attacks on law enforcement, excuses for aggressive behavior, and public outrage only after violence escalates. While the suspect in the viral video was arrested before causing further harm, many fear such incidents are becoming more frequent.

As political leaders continue to criticize ICE and downplay unlawful behavior, concerns remain that the situation could deteriorate further—potentially leading to more serious injuries or loss of life.
